The drip tray collects water drained during coffee preparation and rinsing and serves as a support for the coffee grounds container and drip tray grid.

The spare part should be replaced if you notice cracks, leaks, or corrosion on the metal contacts at the end of the tray, and the coffee machine no longer recognises whether the drip tray is inserted or emptied.
